Graphic Designer

 

We are looking for a creative, tech-savvy, Graphic Designer to join us and help our team convey the vision and complexity of our customer needs by developing and executing concepts, mechanicals and production files to support the fabrication and printing processes. Projects will cover a wide spectrum, ranging from marketing materials to customer signs or architectonic elements.

 

As a Graphic Designer you will:

  • Produce clear and detailed shop drawings and designs within agreed deadlines for customer review and approval. Consider and adapt to varying/evolving project conditions. Keep drawings current with most up-to-date information supplied by sales or Project Managers, or from direct client communications.

  • Submit drawings for engineering review and stamp, revising as needed based on safety and fabrication requirements.

  • Collaborate with Sales Department and Project Managers on design tasks, submittals, redlines and production files.

  • Create accurate production parts for use in the shop and fabrication.

  • Keep close communication with Project Managers, CNC operator and Fabricators to ensure accuracy and quality from drawing stage to finished product. Maintain healthy cross-functional relationships and build relationships outside of immediate team.

  • Create 3D models in Fusion 360 to achieve different view points and check compatibility of relatable parts to help better understand overall design prior to shop drawings and details.

  • Pay extremely close attention to detail for successful outcome of product

  • Communicate with vendors for product specifications and availability, as well as file format requirements when needed.

  • Provide all information needed for successful fabrication i.e. dimensions, materials, required tolerances, etc.

  • Create/Populate/Maintain Client folders, and design libraries (typefaces, standard drawings, client logos/art, templates).

  • Inquire and research at all times when information is needed for drawings.

  • Manage design tasks in our information system.

  • Project Management when called upon to do so. Meet with clients to discuss new jobs, and direct them to the right solution. Thoughtfully prepare the project to easily add teammates.

  • Permit applications and sign review, when called upon.

  • Maintain a deep upstanding of new design trends and technology to achieve the clients goals and push Bluebirds standards.

  • Support Bluebird marketing efforts when required in relation to digital/new media platforms, marketing materials, on line brand presence, etc.

  

Designer Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree focusing on Graphic Design/Visual Communications, Aarchitecture or Engineering, fluent with Mac graphics software including the Adobe Creative Suite, file sharing software, sharp color sense with a keen eye for color matching, testing, and combinations.

  • 3-5 years of Graphic Design experience 

  • Strong work ethic and values, positive attitude and strong verbal communication skills to excel in a team based environment. Flexibility, ability to work in a fast pace constantly changing environment with long hours and tight deadlines. High level of creativity, resilience and adaptability. Ability to work with accuracy individually or as part of a team with very little direction.

  • Ability to learn quickly and self-motivated. Poise when confronted with sudden setbacks or stressful situations. People skills, comfortable presenting ideas and issues to peer groups and leaders. The ability to oversee others during large projects. Professional and courteous demeanor. Ability to meet challenging deadlines, strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Humble attitude to listen to others and take advantage of the opportunities to improve and excel as a team.
