CNC Operator

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive person to join us and support the CNC/Laser department with your knowledge, skill, and artistic spirit while performing a variety of necessary activities such as:

 •  Managing workflow on 2 CNC routers and a laser cutter

•  Ensuring efficient tool pathing to make best use of sheet/material yield

•  Machining parts based on production files supplied

•  Occasionally drawing and designing production partsI

•  Identify and tolerance production parts that fit together

•  Maintain CNC/Laser equipment (cleaning/greasing and troubleshooting)

•  Keeps CNC materials organized and maintain a library of end mills and supplies necessary to the CNC department

•  Receive and record deliveries of materials

•  Manage waste bins and removal processes

•  Reporting time and materials

•  Compliance with safety standards and protocols 

 

Skills and Qualifications

•  Able to read and understand prints/drawings

•  Able to follow internal and external specifications and work instructions

•  Requires solid Math skills

•  Requires a solid understanding of Numerical Control Programs and ability to read and understand machine code

•  Ability to work in a Machine Shop Environment

•  Requires lifting parts, tools, and fixtures weighing up to 50 pounds

•  Requires ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and blueprints.

•  Strong Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others

•  Uses independent judgment in the manufacturing of components

•  Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to a year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•  Basic computer skills 

•  Positive attitude, flexibility, and resilience facing constant change and tight deadlines

•  Ability to work with accuracy and detail

•  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

•  Punctuality and attendance are crucial

•  Availability for overtime and occasional weekend work

•  Valid driver’s license

•  Reliable transportation

•  Ability to pass a background check, drug test and physical exam
